Important large and VERY RARE Mettlach - Villeroy and Boch - art nouveau plaque - ca 1900 - FREE SHIP

This is an outstanding, important and very rare Mettlach large art nouveau plaque or charger number 2689. The plate is circa 1900 and has a scalloped rim and has holes for wall hanging on the back. The plaque is a glazed ceramic platter with a hand painted young woman in profile in the center, surrounded by purple flowers. The rim is decorated in a dark green accent and flowing lines. The overall background color is a shaded pale yellow. It is impressed marked on the back and marked GES OESCH.

The plaque is 21 1/2\" across

Excellentcondition - the front and rim have no nicks, chips or scratches. The original wire mounting hole on the back is broken and a new one was redrilled.
