Chinese Card CaseA very large sterling silver card case, hand hammered with fine detail.It has been hallmarked to the inside \'silver\' informing us it has been made with at least 90% pure silver being the Chinese standard.
We believe it dates to the period 1920 - 1940 due to the style and size and possibly originates from Hong Kong.The outer body has been hand beaten with a very small hammer and you can tell if would have taken some effort to complete this job.
There are bamboo stems and leaves to the front side of the case. Very pretty indeed.The condition is actually perfect with no damage or repair and the lid closes with a sharp snap and is working well.
Notably there is some tarnish in certain areas and the piece could do with a polish.
The card case measures 17cm x 8cm and weighs an impressive 230 grams.How much do you want it ?
