Impressive Renaissance Bronze Intaglio Ring c. 16th - 17th century AD Size 8 1/4:

This is an impressive Renaissance / Tudor period bronze signet ring, dating to the 16th - 17th century. The ring is set with a glass intaglio, imitation of a rock crystal. During the mid 16th century, gold signet rings set with reverse painted armorial devices were extremely popular (see the signet of Mary Queen of Scots). Sadly the gem is cracked, but still stable and in original untouched condition.
