Up for sale with is the finest and largest Birks Sterling Silver Handled Service Platter Tray I have ever sold. The Platter Tray is an exact copy of a Platter made in 1750, which I am sure would be in a Museum. The Platter Tray is also top notch quality but then you would expect nothing less from a world renowned company as Birks and the Tray has the Date Code for 1946, dating back to Birks Golden era when everything was made from the thickest Silver. The Platter is done in the Chippendale pattern and features and incredible thick reinforced outer border and equally incredible Handles with amazing Shell designs, much nicer than my photos show. The Platter is in excellent all original condition with only some surface scratches and no dents, cracks or repairs. The Platter Tray is also a nice large size for use with the Tea and Coffee Set we have listed in another sale or for serving Drinks, Desserts etc measuring 28\" long across the handles by 18-1/2\" wide or the actual serving area is 19\" long by 14\" wide. The Tray is also very thick Solid Sterling Silver with a quality weight of4049 grams. I am sure the new owner will be most pleased and we also have the companion 4pc Tea and Coffee Service listed in another of our sales, figuring that some people may only want the Service or only the Tray but not both.
