This is an important c1835 Indian sterling silver dual crested cup.

From one of the very earliest European controlled workshops in Indian, Arthur Pittar Lattey & Co. Listed from only 1835 to 1842. Examples bearing this mark are RARE. In campagna form, panel neck with dual crests, one with lion presenting flower. Scrolling acanthus lobed base. Tapering S handles, hint original gold interior.

This c1835 Arthur Pittar Lattey sterling cup is 4 1/2 tall and 5 3/4 inches across handles 8 1/2 standard ounces.

Signed for Arthur Pittar Lattey Co. The identical hallmark illustrated in Wilkinson page 155.

Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous silver and silver gilt patina throughout. The crests retain much detail, as do the acanthus borders.
