Offered for sale is a Sterling silver set that I purchased from a well known seller. Set forth immediately below is the original listing description.

INDIAN SILVER TEA SET; COFFEE SET; KASHMIR REGION, c1880

This is an extremely fine c1880 Indian silver coffee service.

From the northwestern region of India called Kashmir.

Known for fine silver in the Arabesque taste.

Designs bases upon architecture and arts of the Mogul homes. And the trees and plants of the region. Especially the Chinar and coriander plant.

Wilkinson (page 107) notes that most silver from Kashmir between 90% and 98% pure.

In tapering form.

All over hand carved swirling Coriander leaf and floral streams. Set within smooth surface spire and panel medallion frames, some geometric.

The is the Shawl pattern for which Kashmir is known. Identical work in Wilkinson page 109-12.

Each piece with hinged cover. A rare design feature. original wood finial and handle to coffee.

Never monogrammed.

Coffee pot 9 inches spout to handle and 7.25 inches tall; 13 1/2 standard ounces. Sugar 6 inches handle to handle and 5 inches tall;8 1/2 ounces. Cream jug 6 inches spout to handle and 5 inches tall;7 ounces.

Unsigned. We guarantee solid silver, not silver plate.

Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous silver patina throughout. The brilliantly carved leaf and floral retain their original crisp, sharp detail. Cover closes tight. Mild wear. am a Sterling Silver Collector and in my opinion, the CONDITION is exceptional. The setis in extraordinary condition. NO other dints, dents, dings or other impressions of any kind. No monogram and no evidence of monogram removal. This is a rare and stunning set!!!
