I tried finding information of J. L. Mitchell in my books and on the web, and had no luck. He was apparently a small manufacturer in (my guess by the design) mid to late 19th century.The engraving of the front of the spoon is really beautiful with a floral spray, and what appear to be Lily of the Valley curved around the end of the spoon. It is an 8\" serving spoon, and is in beautiful condition, and has a lovely monogram of a G. It has the normal, lovely wear that you would expect on a 19th century piece of silver.
