An exhaustively detailed, chronological account of Jackson\'s defense of New Orleans, originally published in 1856, vividly written, and exploring, among many other things, Jackson\'s strategies and tactics, the roles of Packenham and Lafitte, and how the opposing forces planned, organized, and executed their offensive and defensive moves, all the actions along the way, and the reasons for the ultimate American victory.
