Here I have a J&C Fischer Baby Grand Piano in wonderful shape! The serial number (1604XX) puts the time stamp around 1930. This gorgeous instrument was recently restored by one of the premier piano restoration experts in New York. The action is impeccable, and the tone is so sweet and beautiful. You won\'t see very many pianos from this time period in this kind of shape. During the turn of the century, this was a very popular style of piano. A little background on the Fischer piano company:
The J&C Fischer Piano company is not often talked about as it should be. John and Charles Fischer came from a long line of European instrument makers, and when they came to the US in the mid 1800\'s, they had enough skill and craftsmanship to begin churning out some of the best pianos of the time period. Alfred Dolge contended that even as the Fischer company was churning out 5,000 pianos a year, the quality kept improving. The Fischer company (in one form or another) manufactured pianos for over 175 years.
The cabinet is beautiful, the burled walnut is exquisite. A piano is quite an investment, but this one pays off! Similar pianos in worse shape sell for upwards of $30,000! And to top off this deal, I\'ll pay for local shipping in the New York area. A STEAL!
