This hatchet, or Japanese \"masakari\", isprobably 30-40 years old.There is no maker\'s mark on the blade, but the front is probably laminated with the hand forged steel with the same process as is used to make traditional Japanese samurai swords.You can actually see the blade in the enlarged pictures 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9.
This hatchet seems to be intact, and in good condition, with some general wear andsome spots and patches of slightly bumpy oxidation, but there is no significant structural damage. The cutting edge is blunt. The handle has general wear, but it seems to be intact.
Overall, this hatchet seems to be intact, but will probably need corrections.Total : Approx. 305mm(12\")×110mm(4.3\")
