Very nice fine Japanese Lacquer ware bowl made of wood. The technique applied is makie one of the most popular technique in lacquering. It is in very good condition for its age. Dated during late Meiji Period early Taisho. The bowls shows normal use. The motif features crane which usually use in kimono dress and so many things in Japan. InJapan, the crane ortsuru, is a national treasure.It is the symbol of longevity and good luck because it was thought to have a life span of a thousand years.Tsuruare also monogamous, therefore, often used for wedding decor.Please look at the photos carefully. Japanese lacquer which is known also asShikki(漆器) means \"lacquer ware\".
