This is a large, unusual pair of superb quality Meiji period Satsuma vases, ca.1890. Painted with waterfall & mountain scenes, with figures crossing a bridge over a mountain stream. Signed to the bases

CONDITIONone vase is fine, the other has a large chip to the foot rim & a damage to the tip of a dragon handle tail.

The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
