In 2000 had it looked at by Emily Newell of the SF Asian Art Museum, who said it was Japanese. Please see the back neck where it has an I forget what you call it marking. There is a very tiny snag which you can see in the last picture.
Measures about 64\" Long, 51 \" wide.
