This John Forrest Coin Silver Pocket Watch is certainly in used condition, a well scratched crystal, a layman\'s attempt at opening the back of the watch resulted in some damage to the back plate, they weren\'t aware that the face and mechanism swung out the front. The button and spring to release the back for easy key wind access works like a champ. The hands are straight as they originate from the center, but there is some waviness from crystal to face as they\'d been bent before. Hallmarks for the silver assay can be found inside the caseback, inside the case itself and on the stem of the piece.

The back case features a handsome design that shows a little wear, muting some detail, though not completely smoothing away the design and pattern.

The watch currently does not work, a key would need to be found to help ascertain whether it will wind, but with the side to side play in the balance, chances are slim. Case has not been sprung, hinges are intact, though the face/mechanism hinge does have some side to side play.
