Here is a splendid, rare, antique photograph of the oldest wood-framed structure standing in the United States: the historic Jonathan Fairbanks House of Dedham, MA.
This handsome, original, quality photograph measures approximately 10\" x 14\" and is professionally matted and framed in an archival-friendly presentation measuring approximately 21.5\" x 22\"
The photograph appears to date from c1900, judging by the type of photography employed and style of the early electrical poles seen within the photograph. (Please note the original item appears sharper than the hand-held digital photos used herein... tricky to get a good photo without glass glare)
This cost me a little over $200 just to have it professionally framed over 15 years ago. I had found the lovely old photograph (unframed) in an antique shop in Maine about 20 years ago. I HATE to part with this (I\'m a descendant of Jonathan Fairbanks), but need to downsize so have decided I\'d sell it if my price is met, otherwise it will stay with me despite my downsizing efforts.
This charming piece would easily enhance anyone\'s home or office with distinct elegance and historical charm.
I do NOT want to have to package this for safe shipping... so am posting it as a PICK-UP ONLY. However, IF someone wants it shipped they would have to contact me and we would need to explore the easiest and most economical manner to ship it... PLEASE NOTE: they would have to pay the extra money for packaging, shipping and insurance! ALSO: I may be persuaded to personally deliver it for fair additional delivery charge for anyone unable to pick it up and living within a 2.5 hour drive (or so) from Worcester, MA or Boston, MA.
