Thisbeautiful Spanish Senorita is dancing with castanets. She is called \"Holiday in Spain\"and is from the Josef Originals \"Holiday Girls\" Series made in the1960\'s. She is pictured on page 56 inthe blue book, \"Josef Originals, A Second Look\". She is extremely rare and hard to find!

Holiday inSpain is wearing a gorgeous green dress with layers of ruffles and ruffledsleeves. Each ruffle is edged in darkergreen. You can see layers of frothypetticoats underneath her skirts where they billow up. There is a lot of shiny, 24 karat gold onthis figurine that makes her sparkle and shine!The castanets she is holding in her hands are shiny gold and herneckline is outlined in gold. She iswearing a black hat with two applied pink roses on it and shiny goldleaves. The front of her dress hasanother large applied rose and one smaller one, also with shiny goldleaves. They are surrounded by tiny pinkflowers and fronds of glittering gold sponging.Her dark hair is pulled up underneath her hat with a curl at the nape ofher neck. Her face is expertlyhand-painted with rosy cheeks, black eyes & eyelashes, delicate eyebrowsand cherry red lips. She is so festiveand lovely!

Holiday inSpain is in excellent, vintage condition!She had one chipped rose petal on her hat that I have replaced with aceramic rose petal and painted and glazed it to match and you can hardly tellit isn’t the original rose petal.Besides that she is in perfect condition everywhere else. \"Josef Originals C\" is clearlyinscribed in the clay on the bottom of the piece. There is also an oval, black & gold\"Japan\" foil sticker on the bottom.Spain is approximately 5 1/2\" tall and 4 1/2\" wide and has aglossy glaze. Her colors are rich andvibrant and the glaze and gold gilt are bright and shiny. You will love this gorgeous senorita!
