Judy Chicago(born onJuly 20, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois). She is an American feminist artist, art educator and author. Her works depict the role of women in history and culture. Her most celebrated art work is the masterpieceThe Dinner Partywhich is permanently housed in the collection of the Brooklyn Museum. This work of art, which depicts a symbolic history of women in western civilization, was executed between 1974 and 1979 with the participation of hundreds of volunteers.Besides the United States, her art has been exhibited in Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. She has also authored a number of books which have been published in foreign languages, bringing her art and philosophy to readers worldwide.
The signed postcard, 4x6, depicts an image from \"The Dinner Party\" on one side of the card. The other side, the main part, is inscribed in black ink: \"Thank you for your letter. It means a lot to me that my work is important to you - (signed) July Chicago\". It is addressed to \"Mr. Vinod Rowjee P O Box 6112 Johannesburg SOUTH AFRICA\" The postcard is postmarked from Oakland, CA, dated 2 APR 1981. The card is slightly creased at the bottom left corner but hardly noticeable. Otherwise in fine condition.
