KAMIL KUBIK SERIGRAPH PRINT OF NEW YORK CITYS AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY:
$199.00

THIS IS SO NEW YORK!!!!!!! Another of Kamil\'sprints of New York City\'s mostimportant and historical locations. This sale is for his AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY painted duringthe Autumn season when the gold, redand orange leaves are most beautiful. This is painted from the Sidewalk outside......so typical of Kamil\'s work. and a glorious example of his Impressionist style of art. The colors are Autumn\'s brightest and richest and the size of this print is perfect for just about anyplace you might want to put it. Big enough to make an impression but not so big that it\'s too expensive to frame and difficult to find a perfect place to hang it. Not so with this beauty. It would be great in your home or your office or it would make a perfect souvenir for a visitor or a gift for the History buff in your life orfor someone who loves this Museum or works there.

Painting on the city streets was something Kamil loved to do and exactly what he was doing in this scene. As you can imagine, there were always people around him when he waspainting outside and I promise you thatKamil lovedthe peoplealmost as much as he loved to paint. When someone would stop to watch orask questions, Kamilwould usually hand over his brush....invitingthe visitors to have a go at his masterpiece.Of coourse they would bestunned and Kamil would throw back his head in laughter....but still insist that they give it a try. Regardless of what people added to his incredible painting, he was able to quickly go back and change it back to its original form.....or take it in a new direction by painting over what had been added. He so enjoyed these interactions and would continue laughing while posing for pictures, sharing silly jokes and enjoy a conversation with these people from all over the world. Kamspoke FIVE different languages and would be happy to speak withanyone who happened to be passing by. I would bet that the figures he painted into this piece of art had just finished visiting with the artist OR......were about to. This is a magnificent building filled with treasures and history. This scene ....on this day..... is a typical New York City afternoon in Fall and feels so good to look at. It would be a wonderful addition to your personal space or it would make a fabulous and personal gift to someone connected to this street, this city or this building. It\'s a close up of this New York City Landmark with other typically tall buildngs in the distance. Kamil and his Ballerina wife had traveled the world before they decided to make New York City their home. It was because of the people, the streets and the buillding like this one that helped them decide that there was no other city as welcoming and interesting as this one and it was a decision they never regretted. This Medium Sized Serigraph Print is an Unframed Artist Proof and signed in Pencil by Kamil\'s own hand in his flourishing personal style. This one is a beauty.

OurPersonal History

I metKamil over 20 years ago when I commissioned him for a project that resultedina large number ofprints for the State of New Jersey: Cape May, The Barnegat Lighthouse, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, The World Cup Soccer games at Giants Stadium, the visit from the Pope during the 90\'s including mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Newark, the Battleship New Jersey and Christmas in Cape May! These arejust some of the beautiful prints that are availablefor purchase and thatI will continue sellinguntil they are gone.Kamil\'s International work and the New Jersey projectof paintings aretruly amazing but there are countless others that would take your breath away.

Kamillived an extremely healthy, active life but passed away in 2011because of complications from a serious stroke he had unfortunately suffered about 5 years before.

Hehad beenborn in Czechoslavakia but when theCommunists seized power in 1948, he escaped to the West. After living in Germany and Australia, he traveled to the United States, arriving in SanFrancisco where hestudied with the Academy of Fine Arts and worked at the Museum of Modern Art. In 1962, he came to New York City and studied at the Art Student\'s League. He had spent four years in London and Germany where his English born wife was the Prima Ballerina, dancingwith the Essen Opera House. In 1967 they returned to New York City but also kept an apartment in Washington DC.Kamil had developed a close relationship with the President and First Lady,George and Barbara Bush and he developed a deep affection for the world of politics. As a result, Washington DC became theperfect place for the Kubiks to spend some of their time.

Kamil\'s worldwide reputation in the world of fine art is based primarily on hisCityscapes, International Landmarks and events....and gorgeous Florals in pastels and oil. He was named The Official Artist for several USOpenGOLF and TENNIS events and painted The NY City Marathon and a variety of NYC Ethnic Parades. These parades are some of hismost popular prints as ishis work forWall Street and the New York Stock Exchange. His catalogue of work is extensive and hisart isfeatured in many, many private and public collections throughout the world. He was honored with the prestigious annual award \"NEW YORKER OF THE YEAR\" by the Bowling Green Association, a well respected Wall Street Organization but he seemed most elated by being invited by The President of the United States to create the1991Official White House Christmas Card. President Bush and his wife, First Lady Barbara Bush were so pleased with the paintingKamil created for this project that they chose him to do it again in 1992!. Quite an honor and very rare.Kamil also had been invited to paint something to commemoratethe OfficialBicentennial of the New York Stock Exchange and in the mid 90\'s also painted a great many holiday cards with a Wall Street / Financial theme. His 1972 Reader\'s Digest Cover featured the skating rink in front of the former Plaza Hotel in New York and was seen by millions. His work has been chronicled by a vast range of publications, from Business Week, which in 1976 named him an \"Outstanding Young Artist Recommended by Collectors, Curators and Dealers\"..........to the New York Times which has reviewed his work several times. His postage stamp and painting of the 1994 WORLD CUP SOCCER TOURNAMENT in the USA is recognizable to soccer fans worldwide and he was commissionedby the CEO of the Ritz Carlton Hotel Organization to paint their hotels all over the world and he was also invited to paint the Upscale locations, The Breakers Hotel and the Greenbrier. This is enough, I suppose although you can probably tell that I could go on...and on. and on! :)

This is one of only a few of these Museum prints that remain available for sale. I don\'t know the history......when, why it was commissioned or WHO has the original. I always wish I knew that information but Kamil was such a prolific painter that such information is just too difficult to track. I definitely have one of these left for sale .........maybe two. But compared to many, this one is a rare subject and since Kamil is gone, then oncethissubject isgone.....it\'s gone. There will be no more.

I am not sure of the year Kamil painted this original but my guess would be during the mid - late 90\'s. Thisprint is inamazing condition ....like new with noflaws, rips, tears, holes etc. It is perfect and has been signed in pencil by the artist. It is unframed and will be sent to yougently rolled in a long rectangular box, carefully packed in tissue and well protected.

This is a perfect print for anyone who has a deep love of this familiar and well known Park in the heart of New York City.It would make a remarkable gift for the right person andis a perfect piece of art for that large blank wall in your home oroffice. It would look great anywhere. Email any questions. I\'m always happy todiscuss Kamil and/or his art. Happy offerding.
