A Superb and Large Antique Anglo Indian Censer or Jardiniere.
Circular in shape and made of Brass with a Copper lining and superbly detailed with Three Elephant Heads which act as stands.
The craftsman who made this item was exceptionally skilled and the Elephant Heads are wonderfully detailed.
Their curled Trunks being the stands/feet of the Jardiniere and their Tusks are made of Celluloid or a similar material. They have tiny Glass Eyes which even have detailed pupils.
Condition is excellent for age with natural ageing to the metalwork which I have left untouched, but could be cleaned if so desired.
Sadly one of the Elephants has part of his eyes damaged (This is hardly noticable because they are so tiny). The heads were originally Silver Plated but this has all but worn off over the years.
All the Tusks and Trunks are intact but one Elephant Head is slightly loose, but could be tightened if desired.
