This exceptional table top match ball striker stands an impressive 95mm (3.75\") high x 104mm (4\") across and weighs 998 grams. The rim is fully hallmarked for solid English sterling silver Birmingham 1905 with the makers mark for John Grinsell with the base of the glass having a ground and polished pontil. It was designed to sit on a table top with the matches held in the silver insert and struck down the ribbed glass and this is example is much bigger than the more common smaller standard size versions. It is in good antique condition with no damage to the silver and an unusually clear hallmarks. A fine Edwardian large size match ball from a good maker sold with .
