Here we have a large and heavy antique solid silver English
hallmarked mustard pot. Of an unusual shape, the pot stands
on four legs.There are a few issues to mention, so selling at
sale with a 99p start and .Please view the pictures above as they hopefully show all
in detail.Main body bears the makers mark \'D&F\' for Deakin & francis
Ltd, the anchor for Birmingham, the lion denoting sterling
silver, and the date letter \'b\' for 1901. Inner lid has the lion
and date letter stamped.The issues are as follows. There is no liner. Although all four
legs are firmly attached, one is a little out of alignment, so
the pots stands slightly off. The lid appears to have had a
repair near to the hinge. There is a surface crack underneath
which follows the joint; about 2 cms long. It hasn\'t gone
through, so cosmetic only.
Very few dents/dings surprisingly; just one that I can see (2mm).
Probably because it\'s made from a substantial gauge of silver.Measures 10.5 cms longest, including handle and 6.1 cms widest.
