A rare large Chinese export silverpage marker / bookmark. It is hallmarked with two sets of hallmarks oneconsisting of Chinese characters theother the makers mark WS for Woshing operating in Shanghai c1875-1915. It has been beautifully designed having itsterminal decorated with a lucky coin and two characters representing longevityand happiness. It has been engraved with bamboo the reverse has been engravedMASTAH which I think means Mister (Mr) or Master. It is in superb conditionbeing free from dings, splits, and repairs. It measures over 5 inches (12.8cms)long by 1 inch wide and weighs 20g. A beautifully made rare and unusual piece.
