LARGE GEORGE III ACLAND BARONETS CREST OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE TRAY / SALVER c1790

Period: c1790.

Materials: Old Sheffield plate.

Dimensions: 452mm wide x 40mm tall / 17.7 inches x 1.4 inches tall.

Hallmarks: Unmarked.

Condition: There is damage to one of the feet. There is some rubbing to the silver around the edges exposing copper in places, and a few dings and dents around the rim. There is a small section around the edge of the tray that has become slightly separated from the rim, running roughly 4 inches. There is only a slight bit of movement and is only noticeable when you apply pressure. Overall very good for its age. Wear commensurate with age and use.

Notes: An impressive George III salver, decorated with a simple beaded border. The centre has a fantastic engraved crest for the Acland Baronets. Weighs roughly 2kg.
