This is a LARGE sailfish one-sided wall mount. Hopefully the pictures do it the justice it deserves because it truly is a great looking mount! The mount measures slightly over 80 inches in total length and it the widest point measures just over 30 inches. We are not fish mount/taxidermy experts but from \"tapping/knocking\" on this mount around the belly area it sounds to us like it\'s made out of fiberglass?!?
You can hopefully see in the pictures it\'s been painted different colors (dark blue-blue-black and grey). There\'s \"spots\" that have been added/painted onto the large dorsal fin. The eyes are done in yellow. We think the eyes are either a glass or plastic ofsome kind.
It\'s kind of strange because the head...including the snout/beak...almost seem like they\'re real if that makes any sense?!? Almost like they cut the head off of a sailfish and mounted abody to it?!? It feels almost like there\'s little teeth inside the beak/snout area?!? The beak/snout (which has been repaired) almost looks to real and not fiberglass also which is strange?!? Like I said...we\'re not taxidermy experts so we truly have no idea if that\'s how the maker of this mount made it to be life-likeor not?!? If you\'re reading this listing you know more about mounts/taxidermy than we\'ll ever know so we\'ll leave any of those decisions up to you to make.
