This Sale Is For A Leica M3 Camera System. My dad purchased the camera body and one lens in England on 6-10-1955. He purchased the additional lenses and accessories during the next few years. The system includes everything shown in the photos. The lenses are: Leitz Summicron f=5cm 1:2 Nr 1231748, Leitz Summaron f=3.5cm 1:3.5 Nr. 1274855, and Leitz Hektor f=135cm 1:4.5 Nr. 1312429. The original camera box, signed inspection tag, and purchase receipt all showing the camera serial number are included. My dad was a career Air Force man and used this camera to take mainly family pictures at the many locations where he was stationed. He grew up in the depression era and learned to take very good care of what he had, as evidenced by the condition of this system. I received this system as part of my inheritance after my dad passed away in 2000. It has been in a box in my closet ever since. The last time a photo was taken with it was somewhere around 1978. I have tested everything to the best of my abilities and found each item to work. All of the optics are clear and show no signs of fungus or haze. In doing a little research on this camera I have found that it most likely would require a thorough \"tune-up\" by an expert Leica technician before it should be used to take photos. Since the \"L\" seal is still intact I do not believe that my dad ever had it serviced. I believe that it would be very hard to find another original owner M3 in this condition with the included documentation. I was torn between keeping or selling this camera but decided that it would be much better for a collector to add it to their collection and truly appreciate it, than for it to sit in a box in my closet until I die!
