Offered is a very rare Lenci boy doll in excellent condition. He has an adorable face that glances off to the side. He stands 17 inches (about 43 cm) tall. This doll was confirmed as an original Lenci and comes with all the features that were made in that time period. I was told by a Lenci collector that it is a 300 series, model \"L\" doll made in 1927. (See original catalog photo). I am thankful for his information as I could not find a similar doll anywhere. The doll was also seen and inspected by a local doll collector and a Lenci website also verified that it is genuine. Seems this doll is very rare as he has blonde hair, not brown. He is untouched, in original condition.
Features include, 3 holed glass shirt and pant buttons, quilted shoe bottoms, scalloped socks, moveable arms and legs, 2 middle fingers stitched together, hand stitched, felt face, arms and legs, zig zag stitching on the back of the neck, hair sewn in rows, hard stuffed cloth body (early Lenci design), felt clothes, 2 toned lips with 2 dots on lower lip, mohair sewn to head, white iris highlights. In other words it has all the quality features of a genuine Lenci. Note: there are no Lenci markings on the bottom of his feet; some, not all Lenci dolls have a stamp on the sole of the foot.
After careful inspection the only issues I see are a missing top shirt button that his tie covers (see photo),one sock needs mending that is in the shoe, and there is a small3/16 inch hole in the back INSIDE flap edge of the jacket that was damaged but it is covered by the OUTSIDE flap and cannot be seen unless you lift the outside flap. You cannot see the missing button as the tie covers it, the sock tear is hidden inside the shoe, and the hole is covered by the coast outside flap. You can repair the missing material with extra material from the hem of the jacket if you wish.Besides that you may want to get him professionally cleaned but that is up to you as many collectors value keeping it \"just like it is.\" In summary, these issues are very minor in nature and can be repaired if necessary.I did not see any other obvious issues.The doll was stored in a well ventilated area in a non-smoking home.
