Large & Impressive Lightly Restored Portrait from a Maryland Estate

19thC Painting of a Lady from Frederick MD.

This is a Phenomenal mid 19th Century Oil on Canvas Portrait Painting that is Fresh off the Walls of a Frederick Maryland Estate along with several other Portraits that we sold a few weeks back. This old Girl Displays very well and has been lightly restored with wax onto a newer canvas backing with the Original Stretcher and Period Frame. The Painting is in Outstanding Condition with Vivid Colors and the Lady in the Portrait has a bit of a Lazy Eye so while her Eyes may not follow you around the Room she will certainly Keep an Eye on you at all Times. The old Frame is Solid and may be Original with a bit of wear around the edges and a bit of Gesso loss along the right side that could easily be repaired. This Portrait is Very Large and would be a Welcome addition to any Room Large Enough to Display her.

The painting has been restored with wax onto a newer canvas backing with the original Stretcher and Solid Period Frame. The painting has also been backed with an acid free board on the reverse. The painting displays Very well with hardly any wear to note. Possibly a repair located near the forehead but overall very beautiful. The solid old frame also displays nicely with a bit of gesso loss on one side and around the edges but overall an easy fix and a nice old frame.
