A lovely antique English miniature painting depicting a Victorian lady in period dress. It\'s in a black composition frame with rounded glass and gilt edging, with an eyelet for hanging.It dates from the mid 19th centuryand isingood condition overall, the painting shows some evidence of water damage, the gilding is worn and the frame has tiny nicks to its edge. It looks like it\'s recently been restored with a new back and eyelet.It weighs94.7grams and measures5 x 4 ¼inches overall, the portrait being 3 x 2 ½ inches. The final photo shows it with a US penny (1 cent) coinfor scale, which measures19mm/ ¾ of an inchdiameter.
