Description A beautiful early Englishantique19th Century Victoriansolid sterling silver \"heart\" shaped locket/pillboxby the silversmiths John Hunt & Robert Roskell - (1865-1887) and with afull set of English silver hallmarks forLondon 1871.Lovely qualitygenuine 146year old sterling silver box,definitely not a modern re-production, for keeping pills/photos etc, and a sought-after heart shape with a hinged silver lid, and is decorated with embossed flowers and foliage. Weighs approx 37 grams and as a bonus there are no added personal engraved inscriptions or monograms.

MeasurementsMeasures approx.2.15 inches (54mm)x1.85 inches (47mm) and is0.55 inches (15mm) deep.

Date English antique 19th Century Victorian solid sterling silver with a full set of English silver hallmarks forLondon 1871(date letter \"q\") on the lid and London 1872, (date letter \"r\" on the base. Excellent clear struck marks and includes the Queens head duty stamp of Queen Victoria.

Maker Silversmiths initials \"IH & RR\", (John Hunt & Robert Roskell - 1865-1887).

ConditionGood condition, no splits or cracks to the silver, definitely no wear/pin holes, and no nasty knocks or dents, a beautifulearly-dated example.The silver lid hinge works perfectly and the lid opens and closes tightly and securely. Lovely quality and with no added personal engraved inscriptions.
