Description A beautifulrare early Englishantique late 18th Century Georgian solid silverpatch/rouge boxby the silversmithJohn Turner (1773-1801)and dating from around 1795.Lovely quality genuine 215+ year old example, attractive navette shape with fine period prick/wriggle-work engraving and complete with itsoriginal tight fitting pull-off silver lid. Nice period engraved monogram on lid.

Measurements Measures approx 1.25 inches (30mm) x 0.8 inches (19mm) and is 0.3 inches (7mm) deep.

Date English antique 18th century Georgiansolid sterling silver,no silver marks as is quite normal with early small items of silver as there was no legal requirement to hallmark small items until 1815, but there are clear silversmiths initials \"I.T\" (John Turner - 1773-1801) stamped on box and lid. 100% guaranteed antique solid silver and dating from around 1790-1800.

ConditionGood condition, no splits or solder repairs and definitely no wear holes. Has little tiny age-related surface dents/bruises from use, nothing at all bad. The lid is 100% original and matching and is the perfect tight fit. Nice earlyprick-work engraving and a beautiful navette shape.
