This Hopi wicker Peach Basket is large. The top is 18 to 19 inches in diameter and it stands 12 to 13 inches tall. Although it has some fading, the bottom on both the inside and outside is bright. You can see in the pictures that the center start is the earlier style with the diagonal \'stitches\' going across them.This type of start establishes this basket as earlier than many Hopi baskets. This basket is probably 19th century and in very good condition for its age. Some of the top edge wrap is missing. This was purchased through an estate sale. The construction itself tells us: It\'s Hopi. It\'s early. It\'s big. My asking price has come down considerable, so don\'t expect much room for lower offers.
