Here is a beautiful, hand made artwork by Friedrich Wilhelm Wessel in his factory in Frankenthal, Germany, created sometime between 1949 and 1964. It measures 19 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 10 inches tall. It must have taken hundreds of man hours to create this piece. The Wessel factory didn\'t last very long, probably because they got in trouble for using the Dresden label, even though their art was not made in Dresden. That doesn\'t detract from the elegant beauty of this item, though.
It features three musicians, playing the harpsichord, the flute, and a small cello, and four dancers. The dancer at the right has lost a significant amount of her lace dress, and there is lace missing on the back in a couple of places. The lace is made by dipping lace cloth into liquid porcelain, and the cloth burns away when the piece is fired in a kiln, leaving only the porcelain. It\'s very fragile.
I\'ve set the cost of shipping at $40, mostly because of the packaging required to protect it.
