I acquired it from a collector that recently passed away, and unfortunately with him went all knowledge of this rug as well as the other Navajo rug I have listed.

Thesetypes ofwedge woven rugsare rare, and characterized bytheir deep chevron-like pattern that is created by weaving diagonally instead of the usualhorizontal method. Theyweremostly madein the late 1800\'s.This one in particular is in rough condition to say the least. There are numerous holes, and the rug was most likely shortened at some point in it\'s history. However, it isn\'t falling apart. You can hold it and move it around without worrying about it sustainingmore damage. And in all honesty, it is a stunningly beautiful rug. The colors and design are impeccable, even with the wear. It measures approximately 43\" x 50\", and I an incredibly soft wool that was most likely dyed with aniline, as was common in the time period. I don\'t know what it would cost to have it restored or cleaned by a professional that deals with these rugs, but it may be worth it.

I know it\'s not in perfect shape, but this rug has a deep history, and would look fantastic in anyone\'s collection or museum. Youwill likelynever see one of these original rugsfor sale again.

The few I\'ve seen at sale over the years have all soldfor 10k+, but I\'m not a collector, andconsidering the condition, I\'m not posting a reserve on this sale. This will sell for what you want to pay for is $15 Priority USPS.
