Description:We are pleased to offer this pair of late 19th/early20th Century, Qing [Ching] Dynasty, Chinese, Bound/Cloud Foot shoes,C. 1900. These are of blue cotton with silk satin stitch embroidery depicting alotus blossom motif. They are slightly larger in size than traditionalBound/Cloud Foot shoes, but retain the shape. They have paper counters that have been lined in cotton, cotton-padded insoles and appear to have soles made of rubber—possiblyfrom old bicycle tires or the like. This pair shows evidence of wearcommensurate with age including frayed fabric, loose threads, and soiling.
