Laurence Philip Sisson (1928-2015) is known for hispaintings of southwestern landscapes and of the Maine coast. He has lived inboth areas as well as spending time in Japan. He studiedat Yale summer school and was Director of the Portland, Maine School of Fineand Applied Art from 1956-58.
