on 2 AAA Batteries ( not included) with an led siliconebulb that lasts 400 Hours before you change the batteries.They can be easily turned on & off by twisting the bottom just a little. They are 11\" Tall, resemble a lit flame and look like wax.These will fit in most taper holders. The base is 3/4\" at the very bottom and then goes up 1/2\" and is7/8\" inch wide at that point. What a perfect addition to your home and they can be placed anywhere, dining room, windowsa little shelf, the bathroom, so many other places that doesn\'thave an outlet.
