Classic red and blue 4th of July Longaberger basket from 1996. Signed on the bottom “SCH 1996” and stamped with “Longaberger Baskets Handwoven Dresden, Ohio USA”. The number “2303” written in pencil can also just barely be seen. The basket is a small rectangle measuring 8.25 inches x 6.25 inches x 3.25 inches, no handles. The colors are bright and vivid, with a red over navy blue band around the top rim and another navy blue band with two narrow red bands woven around the center circumference. There was never any liner. The basket is in very good condition overall, clean with a nice slightly aged color to the woven wood bands. The red band around the rim has a faint lighter streak running through it that I believe is a dye defect as it has always been that way. The only condition issues are one small area of discoloration and one area of faint staining on the inside, and the very end of the wrap-around band on the top rim has some splitting. There is no odor whatsoever and mine has always been a smoke-free home. Please examine the pictures carefully as I believe they clearly show the simple beauty of the basket, the very good overall condition, and the minor condition issues noted above.

This little Longaberger gem would make a nice gift for any basket collector or a beautiful addition to your own collection!
