After more than four decades of collecting Western European and Latin-American porcelain, fine art, jewelry and antiques, I am retiring from the practice of medicine and moving to smaller quarters. Consequently and to my consternation, I must find new homes for most of my cherished treasures. These circumstances proffer an exceptional opportunity for art and antique collectors to acquire fine and rare pieces at modest expenditures. Therefore, my retirement is your gain!

In this sale, I am offering these two delightful Lladro sculptures as a lot for your consideration:

These two charming girl and boy jewelry dishes were created in 1970, very early during the illustrious career of the now legendary sculptor Salvador Furió, as individual companion pieces: Lladro Items # 01004713 and 01004714, respectively.

Both productions were retired in 1978. Since then, these two items have been sold out and have been pursued very actively by collectors.

I am offering in this sale both the girl and the boy jewelry dishes as a pristine set -- a very rare catch nowadays.

The two jewelry dishes represent two adolescents dressed in Baroque court dresses typical worn in most European courts during the 17th and 18th centuries. The two adolescents are lying down on the grass as if at a picnic, each sitting next to a large (jewelry dish) container. Attention to details to every item of dressing is masterfully observed by Furió. The combination of white with pastel colors throughout the glazed ceramic imparts the sculpture an appearance of elegance and brilliancy quite apropos for opulent jewels.

Both sculptures have been retired and sold out since 1978. Their current market value is $500.00 each, or $1,000.00 for the pair.

I am offering the two sculptures together in this sale for an initial offer of $275.00 with and free shipping within the continental USA. You may have them both right now at a bargain BIN of $475.00.

The two jewelry dishes are in MINT, EXCELLENT, LIKE NEW, pristine, used condition. There have no breaks, repairs, discolorations, scratches, chips, or crazing. The two jewelry dishes have always been displayed behind glass and were never used as jewelry boxes.
