This sale is for eight antique wooden boxesof safety matches with original contents that probably date to the mid 1800s.The tinybox sleeve with sliding drawer is made of very thin wood. There is an applied paper cover featuring pictures from six different pictures from Godey\'s Lady\'s Book (two are duplicates).The boxes are approx. 2\" by 1-1/2\" by 7/16\". Made in Sweden is printed in the lower right corner.The boxes are surprisingly sturdy with age appropriate discoloration and wearas seen in the photographs. The wooden match sticks are amazing.
