Cotton, Cotton Chintz and Linen Print Fabrics.Description:
This incredibly lovely lot of eleven antique textiles were printed on cotton, cotton chintz and linen in France during the 19th and early 20th century.
The design feature a striped floral, garlands and vines of flowers with a lattice pattern, a striped chintz with a moire pattern, a chintz with scroll work, leaf and floral-like
elements and a dot pattern, floral toiles, a whimsical print with horses and floral vines, deco-like florals on linen, one with berries and ribbon-like motifs,
a chintz floral toile with birds and a chintz toile with leaves and a geometric pattern throughout the background.
The colors include tones of blue, cream, green taupe, grey, beige, tan, red, purple, rose and sage.The first fabric measures 31 inches in width by 8inches in length with a 4 1/2\" wide by 5\" long piece missing from the upper left corner.
The second fabric measures 31 1/2 inches in width by 19 inches in length.
The third fabric measures 16 inches in width by 23 inches in length.
The fourth fabric measures 14 1/2 inches in width by 17 inches in length.
The fifth fabric measures 32 1/2 inches in width by 9 inches in length.
The sixth fabric measures 23 1/2 inches in width by 8 1/4 inches in length.
The seventh fabric measures 51 inches in width by 10 inches in length.
The eight fabric measures 23 inches in width by 27 1/2 inches in length.
The ninth fabric measures 32 inches in width by 18 3/4 inches in length.
The tenth fabric measures 25 inches in width by 19 1/4 inches in length.
The eleventh fabric measures 16 inches in width by 21 inches in length.These medium to heavy weight cotton fabrics would be wonderful for pillows, patchwork or other sewing projects!Condition:
These are antique fabrics.
#1 is missing the upper left corner and has dirt in the lower right area.It also has a paper mill label in the lower right corner.
#2 has some surface dirt along the right edge and a stain on the left side of the fabric.
#3 has many tiny rust colored spots/stains throughout and a couple of larger stains in the lower left corner.
#4 has several holes in the upper half and discoloration and stains.
#5 has a stain near the upper right corner as well as discoloration down the center.
#6 has some irregularity in the background color or is a tad darker near the top and a crease along the top from when it was hemmed.
#7 has staining and tiny rust colored spots throughout; also hooks sewn along the top from when it was used as a valance and a 1 1/2\" hem.
#8 has light surface dirt.
#9 has a paper mill label in the lower right corner and some fading near the bottom and right edges.
#10 has small dark spots/stains throughout.
#11 has a vertical seam right of center that is coming apart near bottom and a 3/4\" long slit in the center to the left of the seam.
There are a few spots/stains in the lower right area.Please see photos for reference.All fabrics,wallpapers and paintings are sold \"as is\".Our items are vintage and some are more than 100 years old. We try ourbest to list all imperfections, however on occasion we may miss a few.
