This sale is for astunning example of a pyritised crinoid fossilof the species Pentacrinites fossilisfrom the world famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.

The fossil measures 28 mm (1.09 inches) across. The crinoid plate contains a partial head with lovely detailed flowing arms and pinnules. The fossil has a beautiful layer of pyrite on the surface giving it a shine. Incredible in the flesh. These fossils are uncommon and hard to find. Crinoid fossils with heads are rare.

Around 195 million years old (Sinemurian, Early Jurassic), this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
