For your consideration is this beautiful RARE vintage, early 1950\'s, TMK-2, M. I. Hummel, Sister, #98, made in \"Germany\", porcelainfigurine. This piece belonged to my mother who received it as a giftback in the early 1950\'s. According to my internet research, thetrademark indicates this piece was manufactured between the years 1950 and1955. Also note; this piece is stamped only with the country name \"GERMANY\" without a designation of a \"W.\" or \"WEST\".

Included in this description, for your further consideration, is a snapshot from the 2013 \"Complete Hummel Value Guide\", page 18, showing the estimated value for this early 1950\'s TMK-2, Hummel #98, \"Sister\", piece as being valued at $225.00.

This Hummel bears the stamped \"FULL BEE\" within a \"V\"trademark indicating the piece was manufactured between 1950 and 1955.The name Hummel in German means \"Bumblebee\" and the \"V\"stands for \"Verkaufsgesellchat\" or distribution company. This mark was referred to as the \"Full Bee\". For your further consideration, I have included the below information which Icopied directly from the internet. This information provides specificdate ranges of manufacture and the particular trademark designs that wereplaced upon the Hummel pieces being produced during the identified periods oftime.Trademarks Used in Date Ranges

Trademark Date Ranges1935-1949 aka TMK 1
1950-1956 aka TMK 2
1957-1963 aka TMK 3The figurine being offered depicts a little girl with pigtails holding awicker basket in her left arm and a small bouquet of red flowers in her righthand. The figurine is made of porcelain and measures approximately5.75\" in overall height with an approximate 5/8\" thick base thatmeasures approximately 2-3/8\" in diameter. The little girl figurineitself measures approximately 5.25\" in height. The name \"M.I. HUMMEL\" is embossed into the porcelain and can be seen on the backedge of the figurine\'s base. Please refer to the description photos formore details about what I have described. On the underside of the base there are two (2) impressed markings and three (3)glazed stamps that can be seen. The three (3) stamps are; a black colorednumber \"2\", thecountry name \"GERMANY\" in black indicating the location ofmanufacture and a blue colored \"full bee\" (Bumblebee) insidethe solid letter \"V\" trademark. In addition, there are two (2) impressionsthat can be seen which appear to be the number \"98\" and the\"full bee\" inside the letter \"V\" trademarkthat is located in the middle of the base\'s bottom. Please refer to thedescription photos for more details about what I have described.Overall, despite being in excess of 60 years old, this piece remains to be invery good to excellent condition. The colors are in good condition andthe painted surface has NO cracks, chips, crazing and/or damage anywhere. The aforementioned notwithstanding, pleasenote; there is one (1) very tiny and extremely unobtrusive .25\" chip onthe bottom of the base that can only be seen when examining the piece upsidedown. The noted chip is located on the backside of the basedirectly below the \"GERMANY\" stamping. When looking forthe chip from the bottom, it is located directly below the “e” in the name “HUMMEL”as it is viewed from the backside. Ihave included several photos showing the bottom of the base and the identifiedchip. I also included a clear photo of the figurine\'s backside of thebase as it sit upon the counter top.
