Possibly the finest thing I have ever sold on my site - on offer is a magnificent set of 6 large solid silver & gilt spoons.

Each spoon has a figural handle (see photos) and the most amazing detail I have ever seen on a set of spoons.

They have very clear stamps and are hallmarked for London 1874 - the makers mark is G.F. for George Fox.

Each spoon measures approx 18.5cm in length and weighs between 65 - 70g.

They are all in pristine condition.

They come in their original fitted case - they were retailed at Mappin Brothers, London.

Stunning old set - possibly the finest set of spoons you will ever see.
