Pressbooks were sent only to theater owners to promote and advertise the movie and are extremely rare especially without cuts.This collection has been of the utmost importance to me and has been stored in a temperature controlled room for many years in a non-smoking home with 2 Hepa air filters and in the summer a strong dehumidifier. Please note that these images were all scanned, so you have a perfect example of what you are getting. Some pressbooks have thinner pages and the scanner with the very bright light often will pick up the print on the other side, so please keep that in mind when looking at the photos and also the scanner may produce shadows on the sides which aren\'t there. I am cutting down on my collection and offering many rare pressbooks. Please understand that pressbooks were made to be cut up by theater managers for promotion and to place advertisements in the newspapers, so uncut pressbooks may be hard to find on many titles, and many have been sold off now over the years since and other sale sites have been in business since the late 1990\'s. A pressbook with minimal cuts (most of ours are uncut) still has value. Also note that many of these are very old, so over time the paper may have slightly darkened, this is normal, you won\'t find many pressbooks from the 30\'s through the 70\'s with bright white paper. If a pressbook has darkened more than average,m we will ALWAYS describe that in our listing. Finally, we do not believe in short descriptions and leaving it up to chance for your satisfaction. We try to list EVERY issue if there are any, instead of just saying \"normal wear\" or \"slight use\" or other general terms. We want you to know, since these are collectibles, exactly the condition of the pressbook (which is why we chose to purchase an industrial scanner to be able to scan the largest pressbooks). There is nothing more accurate than a Disney Pressbook for the film\"MARY POPPINS\"starring Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, David Tomlinson, Glynis Johns, Ed Wynn, Arthur TreacherPressbook has previously been folded. 60 HUGE PAGES TOTAL!!!! The cover does show some wear. There is some wear at the spine more-so at the top, and a crease that goes through the last letters of Mary and Poppins (you can see it on the scan, it must have been folded there at one time). Some of the pages are coming apart from the spine, at the bottom about 4 inches and at the top about 2 inches. There is wear all along the spine a little more in the middle where the fold is. The inside pages are in great condition. The back page has a piece torn out, it is the upper right hand corner, it is all blank area where there was no print.There are 3 additional sections. Two of them are for merchandising (6 pages and 4 pages) and a 3rd is called MARY POPPINS UP TO DATE. This was for theaters who were already running the film and was sent out later by Disney with updated Academy Awards the film had won. This section is 8 pages and in excellent condition, and has probably never been included for sale with this pressbook as it was sent out later by Disney to the theaters, it has some great Academy Awards ads, Julie Andrews winning Best Actress and the best original score award.
ADDED EXTRA: THE COMPLETE ORIGINAL 1973 RE-RELEASE PRESSBOOK in great condition including the original ad pad (separate). This is a 21 page pressbook, a great addition to the original pressbook offered here (see last photo).
2nd ADDED EXTRA: The original 27\" x 41\" 1973 re-release one sheet poster in great condition. I had 2 of these, one is on my wall framed so I am including the 2nd one here as a freebie. It\'s an absolutely beautiful color poster on a gloss paper, opens to 27\" x 41\". This is the official poster of the 1973 rerelease, almost identical to the 1964 poster.
This is a wonderful set of Mary Poppins memorabilia, 81 total pages of graphics and information plus the original 1973 huge poster in great condition. The poster is not actually graded here as it is a freebie but I can tell you it\'s got all sharp sides and corners and looks close to new. ALL MATERIAL IN THIS sale IS GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC ORIGINAL MEMORABILIA FROM WALT DISNEY, NO REPRODUCTIONS!The pages of this pressbook are printed on a beautiful glossy paper.
