First of all I must tellyou that this Piece is SO LARGE, (..& ESPECIALLY with the Leather &Sterling Tie being so Large, Long, & Heavily made too- that it was REALLYDifficult to even photograph since it was almost impossible to \"curl itup\" small enough to Fit into my Photos, HA!..SOOO- that being said- just KNOW that myphotos DO NOT do it justice, asthis one is SUPER DUPER Nice!! ELABORATELYDesigned ULTRA THICK, Heavy Genuine Sterling with TRADITIONAL NAVAJO detail,including 4 Feather/Foliate Designs-(2 on each end), Sterling Rain Beads, and ornate stampeddetail- all of this surround a MASSIVE, 3 1/2\" LONG x 3\" WIDE HAND CUT TURQUOISESLAB! This entire piece is SO LARGE& HEAVY & THICK, that it was actually difficult to Photograph, but this one is aDEFINITE BEAUTY!
This Bolo is INCREDIBLE, from the QUALITY of the STERLING, tothe SIZE & WEIGHT of the LEATHER TIE- (that by the way, is WITHOUT A DOUBTone of the VERY NICEST I have EVERSEEN!!) The Previous Owner had this Leather Tie custom made for him at one timeby the husband & wife team of Navajo Artists- Alvin & Lula Begay. Theyhand make EACH & EVERY component of these- Hand Braid the Leather, do all theSterling Work by hand, etc., they are super FINE- for SURE! According to myinformation I received- this MASSIVE Old Pendant actually began life as a BeltBuckle!! The previous owners had it converted into this Slide Pendant severalyears ago by Navajo Artists Alvin & Lula Begay- (..AND ALSO had them makeone of their prize winning Leather Ties for it at that time, as well.) Eventhough the Bolo Pendants are REALLY POPULAR with the LADIES these days, if THISwas MY Piece- I would have a LARGE BALE ADDED TO THE TOP- (OR an Enhancer Hookon Back!!) Oh MAAAANNN- Can\'t you just IMAGINE this HONKER attached onto a Strand ofGorgeous Old Navajo Pearl Beads? WHEW! LOL!
Eye-Catching color, with a GORGEOUS Natural Matrix mingled throughout theENORMOUS BOULDER of Turquoise! A WHOPPING 4 1/8\" TOTAL LENGTH- with aSUPER LARGE Chunk of HAND CUT AND POLISHED BLUE TURQUOISE- a cabochon that byitself measures 3 1/2\" LONG x 3\" WIDE!!..(Not Flat but a VERY HIGH,NATURALLY THICK CUT, SUPER FAT Stone..OVERFLOWING over the Sides of the SAWTOOTH BEZEL that SECURELY & SAFELY embraces it!)..you can actually hold theStone in certain Angles & in Lighting & see areas on it where it wasactually hand cut & polished,..not all \"machine perfect\"- thispiece is MUCH OLDER than you are thinking it is when you see it in thephotos..after the work was done to convert it into a SLIDE from the Buckle thatit was- of course the Silver has to be cleaned- (not only that, but it had tobe shinier to match the NEWER Highly Polish Sterling of the Braided LeatherTie!
