MAW & Co England MAJOLICA TILE - VICTORIAN NEWS VENDORS 1970s

Tile is 7 1/2\" x 15 1/2\", framed size is 9 3/8\" x 17 3/8\", weighs 3 3/4 lbs

Beautiful Art Tile, framed in a wood with gilt inner frame with wood backing. Manufactured by Maw & Co of the Highgate Tile Works, Toke on Trent, circa 1974. Raised outlines with hand coloration. Metal Hanger on back.

NOTE: Another tile, already sold has a foil label with information about the company and technique. One photo shows back of both tiles, but you are only getting the Newsvendors. The design and coloration is really spectacular! Have not found this anywhere.

The company Maw & Co of the Highgate Tile Works - Stoke on Trent after a 19th Century style forgotten until revived in the 1970s. Raised outlines filled with different majolica colors.

CONDITION: Excellent condition without damage or repairs. No glaze crazing.

Will double box for safe shipping with plenty of bubble wrap and peanuts. Insurance and Tracking / Delivery Confirmation is included.
