The Child\'s Bible with Plates, By a Lady of Cincinatti.Philadelphia/NY/Boston: Fisher & Brothers, 1834. Super RARE miniature Bible. Cloth bound with some light wear and fading, as shown; title still visible on the spine. Pages delicately browned and stained, interior intact; unmarked. Hinges intact. 3 inches X 2.5 inches. All 192 pages present with numerous plates.A charming and rare miniature consisting of Biblical tales for children and illustrated with many woodcuts. Because of their size the volume is also referred to as the \"Thumb Bible\".These were highly prized and were often rewarded to children as gifts for good action, often in church.
