A MUSEUM QUALITY EARLY 18TH CENTURY QUEEN ANNE SIDE CHAIR WITH A CARVED AND DECORATED CREST, A BOLD SPLAT AND DEEP EARLY BLOCK TURNINGS WITH THE ABSOLUTE BEST BRUSH CARVED SPANISH FEET. CONNECTICUT, CIRCA 1730-1740 IN THE ABSOLUTE BEST ORIGINAL GRUNGY BROWN STAINED SURFACE AND PATINA.

A first period, Early 18th Century QUEEN ANNE American side chair. It has a fully developed and scrolled crest and a highly developed and carved center splat. Block turned with a dramatic cant to the rear.

IT HAS THE VERY BEST BOLD TURNED SINGLE FRONT STRETCHER AND EXTREMELY RARE OVER SIZED TURNED DOUBLE SIDE STRETCHERS.

THE BRUSHED AND CARVED "SPANISH" FRONT FEET ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST.

THIS CHAIR HAS THE BOLDEST BLOCK TURNINGS AND REAR POSTS. It is from CONNECTICUT AND DATES CIRCA 1730-1740. The woods are Native Cherry and Ash. The shape of the nicely carved crest is indicative of that area as well as are the fully developed and bulbous turnedsingle front stretcher and the RARE TURNED side stretchers as well as the BOLD CARVED SPANISH FEET. This chair is structurally all original. The real rush seat is about100 years old and in great condition.

THE SURFACE IS ABSOLUTELY UNTOUCHED. IT RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL THIN WASH SPANISH BROWN STAIN. THERE ARE MINOR LOSSES AND ABRASIONS TO THE SURFACE FROM AGE AND USE.

THE VERY BEST PATINA YOU WILL EVER FIND.

NO REPAIRS TO THE FEET THEY ARE ALL ORIGINAL.

THE CARVED SPANISH FEET ARE THE BOLDEST EXAMPLES WE HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME.

IT HAS A WONDERFUL CARVED EAR CREST WITH A CARVED DECORATION WITHIN.

This great chair stands 41" tall. The seat height is a full 17 1/4".
