Fabulous colors and design that comes in excellent vintage condition...We were told by the relatives of the previous owner that was one of the stars ofher collection andwas bought at sale in Paris in the early 1960\'s.
We were given this shawl to sell earlier this week and they came from a local estate here in Brighton.The previousowner was a costume designer and had amassed a huge collection of vintage items for research and inspiration.We will be selling many items from this collection over the next few weeks with some incredible things being listedincluding an incredible crochered art deco coat and silk scarf attributed to Sonia Delaunay plus aBallet Russes stage costume from around 1917...
Magnificent 1880\'s Jacquard shawl that has been hand woven in a glorious design of blocks of color withglorious patterns woven throughout.It is edged with a cream silk fringe that l have shown close up in some photo\'s.
Excellent Vintage Condition....
The shawl measures 66\" (165cms) square not including the fringingand 78\" (195cms) square including the fringed edge........
