Here we have aquite exceptionaland quite lovelysolid gauge and and clear.Fully marked tobase ofbodyand to handle.Also marked tofinial and lid.Marked in4 different places!Curiously the finial is marked by JA JA though it is a perfect match.

Assayed inLondon anddated 1854 (year Robert Smily.His mark is found onarticles between 1843 and 1856.

This lovely item is in itself awonderfulpiece of grandVictorian silver.

Thediameter of the pot isvery large at10 inches and its height7.75 inches. quality andis a mostdelightfulpiece oftable silver.

It isengravedtoone side with a crest andmotto and is unengravedto the other and always has been(refer to images).

grams (26.69 troy ounces) and the overall condition isvery good indeed.There is no way that i could merit scrapping it despite the high metal price and it still has plenty of life left in it yet.All it needs is to be used!

One of the nicest pots i have had in a long,long time.
